Dark Splotch

I tell myself that the dark, wet days that quickly turn tonight are tolerable.

They are not. They are those dark times we endure until the days again lengthen and the sun again caresses our face.

I live for the cloudless days when the sun reaches through.

When the sun touches my face, I close my eyes drinking it in through my skin as though to create a memory of it to tide me over those dark, sunless times.
